Located in Raleigh, N.C., NAMI North Carolina offers a range of educational, support and advocacy services to people with mental illnesses. The organization provides a family-to-family education program that includes informational and training courses in clinical depression and schizophrenia bipolar, panic, borderline personality and compulsive disorders. It offers the In Our Own Voice program, which features educational services for the public. The organization also offers the NAMI Connection program, which features recovery support group services. NAMI North Carolina is a part of NAMI, which is also known as National Alliance on Mental Illness and offers various health care and support services. Founded in 1979, NAMI has affiliates in several U.S. states and serves more than 1,000 local communities across the country.
