THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT!

Finding Brea on the internet at Salon Element in La Mesa was my good fortune, and that's an understatement. My daughter was about to graduate college and I needed my hair done in a very specific manner since I didn't want to look like I had just had a haircut.

My former stylist had moved, so I did a brief Google search, discovered Brea and called her to see if I could get some sense of how skilled and experienced she was. I found her to be delightful on the phone, friendly, patient, open, and responsive to my sometimes corny sense of humor. Needless to say, I eagerly booked an early morning appointment with an intuitive feeling that I had made a good choice.

When I arrived at the salon, Brea welcomed me warmly and then listened while I described my particular preferences and the overall look I wanted on my noggin.

Because I've had some great stylists over the past 40 plus years and I wanted her to be comfortable, I told Brea that I knew it was difficult working on a man's head for the first time and we could just communicate as she went along.

She sized me up aesthetically and asked a few questions, then got right to work. She diplomatically explained that some of my expectations were inconsistent because my hairline at the neck wouldn't look natural. I knew, from then on, that I wouldn’t have to micro-manage my haircut.

As soon as I perceived that Brea was really a talented hair artist, I told her to make whatever adjustments she felt were appropriate to achieve the look that I had imperfectly portrayed. With a quiet confidence and determination to be successful for me, she continued to seek affirmations that my hair was beginning to look right for me. She took her time, covered all the bases, thinned my eyebrows, cut all the wild, old gray hairs in and around my ears and, above all, seemed genuinely concerned to know that I was happy with the result.

Go to Brea if you're a lady or a gentlemen looking for a stylist who has mastered the art of hair sculpting. I was unequivocally satisfied with this young woman's work, and I told her that it was the best first haircut I had ever had with a new stylist. Brea made me happy, gave me a fabulous, natural-looking haircut and, as a consequence, allowed me to attend my daughter's graduation ceremony looking and feeling as though I were ten years younger.

To Brea, all I can say is BRAVO, BRAVO! I'm all yours from now on. I'll just relax while you work your magic.

To prospective clients, I can say with confidence that, once Brea has done your hair, you won't let anyone else get their fingers near your head. Go to Brea and smile.
